Re: Decided to Sell the Roc
Apologies for thread hijack, but I'm having to get shot too, selling my 2009 Rising Blue 2.0Tsi. In my case, it's losing my job next month forcing a cheaper motor. Full demonstrator spec, 39000 miles on an 09 plate, will be putting it up on the for sale board once I come back off holiday and g...

After brief consideration, most of my ideas for FKK are not family friendly.

Looked at the muckyness of the front end and thought "Must be winter then. I only just cleaned it two days ago."

Glad to know they did a good job, Ego. I bent mine last year, and when I got it back, a Xenon light popped. The accident repairers replaced it, seems since xenons "never" go wrong, it must be accident-related. Cheers, lads! I got fed up with the "give way to nothing" game, and bo...

Re: Car theives.
Fun meter - the whole scanning thing doesn't apply to most newer cars, recent VAGS have the code changed every time the key is put in the ignition. So the car reprograms the key with a new code every time you use it. If someone scans your "old" code and try to use it next time you leave t...

Re: Insurance - Modifications??
The RBS brands (Direct Line, Privilege etc) have been fairly kind to me although I'm a bit over 25 these days... I hear of Adrian Flux as being competitive for younger drivers. Following Trix's comment above, I have no further comment to make on Admiral or it's other brands. <ahem.> Regarding the mo...

Re: Mine for 13 days, tested the airbags.
Sorry for the delay in responding, I moved house and only just got the Internet connection back. Ryan, it did need the flitch, as well as all the obvious bits and a new washer bottle. Luckily, the geometry and rolling road test all checked out right first time. Now I need the snow to go away so I ca...

Re: Mine for 13 days, tested the airbags.
Well, I called them today for an update, and it's having it's checkout and 4-wheel alignment test now, if it passes I can maybe get it tomorrow, if it fails then, well...
It has been there a week or so already, apparently parts delivery struck lucky.

Re: Mine for 13 days, tested the airbags.
trix, I suspect the fire crew are making the vehicle safe by disconnecting / removing the battery (although the item at the front of the car on the ground looks like the battery?) Spot on, disconnecting the battery. The item on the ground is actually the fire crew's metal toolbox. Here's the closeu...

Re: Mine for 13 days, tested the airbags.
The door's fine, as is the pillar, luckily. Unluckily, look closely at where that wheel's gone. New subframe and suspension time!
As a work colleague pointed out, the problem with driving into things is that all the expensive bits are at the front of the car.

Mine for 13 days, tested the airbags.
The fire crew liked it, the policeman said it was a nice car too. I'm still thoroughly unimpressed with what i did to it, but not as unimpressed as the van driver. :grumpy: Short version, the queue for the slip road was longer than I thought, I swerved towards the hard shoulder when I realised I cou...
