Re: Heating/Climate Control Died

Cheers for the suggestions.

The panel works, I mean I can adjust the settings, the only thing of note is that the LED temperature displays don't light up anymore (passenger and driver side), but all the buttons, fan speeds light up.

Would that still suggest the panel?

Heating/Climate Control Died

Hey, Hoping someone can help. The heating/climate control in my Scirocco has completely died. No air blowing at all (on any setting, hot or cold). I've changed the blower motor in the hope it was that, but that hasn't helped. Plugged Carista in and get the following faults; 00538 - Reference Voltage...

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?

Fitted a new carbon fibre bonnet (xmas present to myself), then had it wrapped to match. Can really hear the turbo now with the vents! Looks great. How much did the bonnet set you back? Cheers mate. I've seen them for £600, but I managed to get it second-hand for half that. Had a few chips and scuf...

HELP! Engine tapping noise. Any ideas?

2.0 TSI (2009, 80k miles). Hi everyone, So I just had my car remapped about 10 days ago. No issues, then suddenly yesterday a tapping noise has started from the engine block. No idea if the two events are related. Tapping noise happens when hot and cold. It gets faster and slightly louder with RPM, ...

Re: What do you guys think of the optional rear spoiler ?

I got mine off of eBay. Quality isn't as good as the OEM part however, but still looks tidy!
It came from Poland and needed a little work to get it to fit properly, but at £99, I thought it was worth a punt.

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?

Purchased me some 4pot calipers for my rocco. Unsure of what colour to paint them though. the car is silver with standard interlagos alloys. Any ideas on what colour I should do the calipers? Everyone goes with red (myself included) but I think a bright lime green looks amazing (planning on changin...

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?

So today I finally got round to installing my Maxton Design splitter and as I had to take the bumper off to fix it (shout out to user @ryancooke for his guide) I also painted the grill gloss black to match (sanded, primed and painted - not a fun job). Think it finished the front off nicely. http://o...

They're 14mm in width. I just bought a sheet and cut them to shape using a jigsaw, then sanded them down. Pretty easy job.

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?

I finally fitted my rear diffuser. I know they're not to some people's taste, but I like an aggressive rear-end! I couldn't find one I liked for the 2.0 TSI, so decided to make my own using black polycarbonate. I wrapped the rear in black and then fitted the 'fins' in place. It's a subtle addition, ...

Re: Help with DRL lights not working properly

Yeah, tried turning the connector 180º. Didn't work. I'll try a local garage I use, see if they'll have a look, but first I've ordered some resistors - I've seen it mentioned that the turn signals have built in resistors but the DRL doesn't and some cars are more sensitive, so it might just be that....

Re: Help with DRL lights not working properly

Roy, Thanks. Glad to hear you've got the same and they work! Yep, turn signals work perfectly. I've noticed when I turn the engine on, the white lights flicker a couple of times, but remain off after. The turn signal is connected via the connecter, but the side light (white) is just flat pin that pu...

Re: Help with DRL lights not working properly

Are you using canbus leds? What you can try is to erase the fault codes with vcds and see if they will start working. If they light up when you unlock your car they don't seem faulty to me. Hi Roy, They claim to be CANBUS bulbs, but I'm skeptical. I've attached a photo of the unit below. Do you kno...

Help with DRL lights not working properly

Hi, Firstly, just want to say hello. This forum has been invaluable since I got my Scirocco a year ago, I've followed so many tutorials and got so many ideas. It's a brilliant resource! On to the issue at hand. I've just got some LED DRL's for my 2.0 TSI (2009). They seemed to work fine. Unlocking t...
