Not impressed with that at all!! Was looking at it last night on Auto Express website. As others have said I don't like shouty stripes on cars, unless I'm actually in a touring car ;-)
What's with the old skool radio unit... yuk
I get around 400 miles per tank if I do mostly motorway driving. Can sometimes get 400+ in warm weather! Winter is the killer with a/c on and freezing conditions. Then it's 350-370 (ish). One thing of note: My Scirocco's mpg has slowly gone down over the years. Not massively but noticeable nonethele...
Hmm Looks like it might have to be a Mk7 Gti for me then .I can wait a year - but not 2+ Plus I'd like to wait until its been out a year or to iron out the bugs before I buy one so that's 3 years. I'm after a new car now so it looks like its going to be a new Audi TT for the next 3 years and then m...
I only bought a replacement drivers wiper blade last weekend (from Halfords full price as I a long trip the next morning so couldn't wait for eBay delivery). Excellent wiper blade. No juddering, super smooth and easy peasy to fit.
I'm also eyeing up the new Golf GTD (or possibly the GTI). Looks really nice and the new 184bhp diesel with 60mpg is enticing (although the BMW TwinPower diesels still beat VW hands down). The high insurance isn't though  Why is it you have to pay more for an Golf GTD over a Scirocco with the sa...
My hunch is that we'll have to wait until the Mk4 with MQB platform before we see the new 150ps diesel engine (same goes for the 184bhp version too). Others may know more.
May I ask why you're going from an 'R' to a 140 TDI? That's quite a difference
This is a fascinating post. Why? Because it serves to show us why the Scirocco is such a unique blend of stunning good looks, practicality, decent running costs and all at reasonable price. Plus the residuals are strong too. This is the reason everybody has struggled to come up with another car that...
ZephyR I'm in exactly the same situation as you, same scirocco too. I've searched and searched and researched and researched but still can't come up with another new car quite like the scirocco. What is your aversion to the 1 Series? A fine set of engines to choose from. Good rear seats. Hatchback a...
Have you considered; BMW M135i (faster than a Scirocco R, rear wheel drive & gets mega write ups) BMW 125i (faster than a Scirocco 2.0 TSI and is a bit of a wolf in sheeps clothing) Toyota GT86 (gets rave reviews) or wait to see what the new Mk VII Golf GTI and GTD are like (as I am)? Audi A5 2....
Avon ZZ5 tyres all fitted and scrubbed up nicely. I've done a few hundred miles now and I can report that they're definitely quieter than my last set (Dunlop Sport fitted from factory). There is more grip too but that wasn't hard as my last front two were becoming alarming bad even with 3mm left on ...
I'm thinking of changing mine a bit sooner so waiting for the Mk IV is out of the question for me. However they do say that new car sales generally are slowing up and that there might be some good deals come the end of the year - although this mainly applies to non-german manufacturers but there mi...
