DCC Shock Absorbers

Hi all, Have just had my car serviced and been told that the rear near side shock absorber is a gonner... They had a look at getting one from VW and they are saying £330 so I would like to explore getting one by other methods... Does anyone have any experience in figuring out part numbers and which ...

Audi A1 - Mods??

Afternoon all, I'm a scirocco owner and love this forum.. My friend has just got himself an Audi A1 and I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a good forum to go on (like this one) ? The only ones I can find dont go into any sort of detail on potential changes / issue resolution at all and its ...

Unfortunately not :( (that would have been too convenient!!)

I'm thinking I might have to try and find a scrapyard that has a scirocco with the pearl grey headlining and get one that way.

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately all I can find on there is the full moulding not the trim that attaches to it..

Part number help!!

Hi all! I am hoping someone can help me find a part number for the panel in between the internal sensors for the alarm and the map reading lights? I went to take it out today - one of the map reading lights has gone and I wanted to swap it - annnd I broke some of the clips on it! Doh. It doesn't see...

Re: Retrofit MFSW buttons?

It sounds like that controller supports everything, so in theory it should be fine. You may even be able to get the paddles working. As with all these things there are no real guarantees until you try it. Lets hope so :) the parts should get here this week / next week. I will give it a go and we sh...

Re: Retrofit MFSW buttons?

Hiya Rob, Me again I am afraid! Thanks for confirming that the slip ring should be ok from mid to highline. Going back a bit in our conversation on this one - I have actually gone for a new steering wheel instead of the replacement buttons (for the same price as getting just the buttons!!), but it h...

Re: Retrofit MFSW buttons?

Mine were 2nd hand off a car where they had replaced the standard silver buttons with the black R buttons, so I can't see it being an issue recovering them from a scrapped car. Providing the airbags haven't gone off it could be a good source of donor parts. I believe i used part 5K0971584C, but i w...

Re: Retrofit MFSW buttons?

Great stuff.. I will make some enquiries now. I don't think there should be an issue.. and if it saves a few £ then all the better :) I do have a DSG box, but I don't have the paddles on the steering wheel. I did look into maybe getting them, but at £500+ for a new wheel I decided to just leave it.....

Re: Retrofit MFSW buttons?

Thanks Rob! Really appreciate your guidance on this one :) The buttons are very few and far between by the looks of things... what would your opinion be on stripping them from a car with MFSW that had been scrapped (with airbags that have not gone off)? There are couple of Rocs on ebay that look pro...

Re: Retrofit MFSW buttons?

Rob,

What can I say?! Awesome guide. I think this will make it really clear.

By the looks of it the whole silver part is replaced with the buttons? Correct?

Thanks

Matt

Re: Retrofit MFSW buttons?

Thanks for the help Rob :) I still need to plug in and check my slip ring part number the car has the high line computer I think so I just need to see if it accepts cruise & MFSW.. But once that is all checked out I think I might have to go for it! Did you do the fit yourself? Any handy tips or ...

Re: Retrofit MFSW buttons?

Morning All, Sorry to dig up an old topic! I was looking into retrofitting a MFSW when I stumbled upon this.. Have to say it seems like a much better option (and an added bonus of fitting cruise while I am at it..) One question though... does the RH steering wheel stalk not require replacing at the ...
