VCDS security code

Dear Roccers, I was wondering if someone could help me out with this... Is there any way to obtain a security code for engine tweaks in VCDS? I'd like to adjust my idle speed a little bit as there is an option of Idle Speed Adjustment available, but it needs the security code...some guys around here...

Re: Warning about Dectane

Damn, I feel sorry for you. Do the same I did, get rid of that crap and get real bulbs. I did it on mine, FULL LED, no warnings, only reverse and turn signals are canbus. Looks amazing, powerful and way cooler. interesting, was thinking about the same job...any pictures? how about bulbs, 6x red led...

Re: Slight judders when idle!

You really have some reasonable inputs blower, but can you please tell me if it´s possible to raise idle speed on our engine? Just like on 2.0 TFSi Audis or TDis I heard of...I´m sure it could help a lot. VCDS has an option in Engine Controller called Idle Speed Adjustment, mine requires Security Co...

Re: Jumpy Idle with AC on

one more question here, can a faulty alternator cause jumpy idle on neutral when AC compressor is engaged? I have noticed that my 3-months old battery never shows voltage higher than 13.6-13.9V and though I´ve never recorded any fault code related to alternator itself, my mechanic is somewhat skepti...

Yes, I have a guy checking the old turbo in a couple of days, I'm interested what he flnds out that could've been wrong, too.

New turbo on 1.4 TSI 118kW

Hi everyone driving the twincharger and interested, just wanted to share my experience with a brand new K03 BorgWarner in it, fitted a few days ago... As I intend to be using the Rocco a couple of years to come (mostly because there's pretty much nothing out there I'd fall for at similar price and m...

Re: Jumpy Idle with AC on

Yes, both throttle bodies properly cleaned, alignment performed...still to no avail. I'm very cautios regarding the spark plugs on this engine and the current ones are the newest spec for our engine, had them changed some 5 months/5000 km ago...though I didn't play with the gap at the time rather le...

Jumpy Idle with AC on

Dear fellow roccers, is there anybody who could point me in the right direction with this issue? Ever since I bought my Viper Green some 3 years ago, and in addition to pretty much having a good time with it (except for the episode of major engine issue forcing me to replace pistons:(...), I've been...

Re: Dreaded 1.4 160 PS Missfire

Yes, absolutely true...my VW specialist charged me some 1000 euros for both disassembly and assembly, as opposed to 2000+ euros had it been done by an authorized dealer.

Re: Dreaded 1.4 160 PS Missfire

Get a 2.0 TSi and you're fine...too much hassle with the 1.4 twincharger, really...unless you get it for extremely good price so you have a room in case some shit happens. But still, if I was to buy Rocco again, I'd never pick the twincharger:(

G42/G71 and G31 sensors location

Dear Roccers, can anybody please point me in the right direction with this issue? I´ve been having recurring problem with these sensors and finally need to replace them (along with the wiring, perhaps): a) Intake manifold pressure sender G71 with intake air temperature sender G42 - signal too high b...

Re: Dreaded 1.4 160 PS Missfire

nice elaboration blower...
very true about the piston rings, saw mine totally cracked on the 3rd cylinder/piston back in the day...not exactly a pleasant look.
it´s a shame that you can´t replace pistons from underneath the engine but rather need to strip it all the way...labor cost is a killer then

Re: Dreaded 1.4 160 PS Missfire

"especially with shitty parts" THIS is the reason, all along, for every damn issue with CAVD engine. Not sure about its later revisions, though, but wouldn't be surprised if they go on with shitty parts in those, too. How come can stupid Peugeot RCZ R get 270hp out of 1.6 turbocharged engi...

Re: 160 misfire and rough idle

I've measured the original gap size on a new set between 0.7 and 0.75mm. They are spec'ed at 0.8mm but sparks are rarely the size they say they are from new - they allow for a bit of gap increase over their life span, so the average gap size is what they are actually spec'ed at. A new set is usuall...
