When to service?

I got my Scirocco in August last year. Now 14 months on it's got 9000 miles on the clock. Would it be best to get it serviced now or just wait until the service light come on?

some say it would be good to have just an oil change only, half way into the longlife programm. I did not but will do so in between my first ( now due) and the next service.

Yes, look inside your service logbook on page 3. It will be ticked Long Life or 12 month.

Tried that this morning. It just came up with "CAVD". No idea what that means. The service book has long life ticked so I guess I just a case of waiting for it to say

CAVD is the engine code.

Ahh. Any idea why it came up on the dash then? I don't have the computer if that makes any difference.
