Intake Manifold woes

Post by pelien »

Hi All,

I am after some advise if at all possible? I have seen numerous threads about the Intake manifold issue, but I have a slight twist to the issue so any help would be much appreciated.

So I had the error come up (engine warning light and EPC, loss of power, some smoke).

I had the intake manifold replaced (06J133201BH, £90) with £288 labour. All was well for about 3 weeks.

Yesterday while driving to work the engine warning light began to flash, followed by the EPC light and more smoke. This time the engine light went off but the EPC remained with loss of power so straight back to the garage.

They are saying it could be a faulty intake manifold and should be replaced. I have discarded the receipt so cannot get a replacement from the original supplier, but this sounds a bit "off"?

Could this really be the case or is there a "deeper" problem that could have caused the error to return?

Many thanks

Neil.

Better off with a genuine VW manifold, around £300 but no more problems
