MIBII STD software upgrade

Post by mm8718 »

Hi all

Just picked up a second hand 2017 RLine TDI Scirocco and I noticed the previous owner never touched the infotainment or the satnav as neither has been updated.

I updated the maps easy enough through official links but the infotainment is still on version 0356. The part number is 5C0035680E. I am lead to believe online I can purchase for a small fee the 0367 update which will be tied to my VIN etc.

However, I paid the extra fee to the dealer to Activate Carplay on the unit and it works as expected.

Questions:

1. Will I loose the Carplay activation after the software update?
2. Are there really any super benefits to the upgrade? Could not find any changelogs
3. Is 367 the latest?
4. Can I go back to original if required?
5. Any danger of bricking the unit?

Thanks in advance
