I've tried to send a couple of messages but when I click submit, they stay in my outbox and don't appear in the sent messages folder. How do I get messages to actually send?

Re: Decoding your Build Sticker

I've always known it as week 23 model year changeover and week 46 for minor updates and that ties in with my current car and my previous VW. In reality it doesnt't really matter unless you are looking for a specific feature that was introduced at that time. Edit: Based on the information in the fol...

Re: Decoding your Build Sticker

I have found another site that states the model year runs from August 1st to July 31st: http://www.clubvw.org.au/vwvin" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; This would make more sense as it would mean that my Scirocco was completed on Friday April 29th 2010 and was first registere...

Re: Decoding your Build Sticker

Can anyone help with the following: 18-5-5190 with an AV vehicle ident would mean that it was completed Friday May 1st 2009 and it is a MY 2010 car. Is that correct? If so, then it looks like it was one of the first MY2010 cars to be completed. If someone could confirm or correct, it would be appre...

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?

Expensive day, 40k service, air con service, brake fluid change, new EBC discs and yellow stuff pads, VWR springs and Revo stage 1 fitted. Totally worth it :D Did you do a lot of that yourself bar the Air con and Revo stage 1? That’s a big bill if not but like you said. It’s worth it[emoji106] Sent...

This is what the tool looks like https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192535321991" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; You can make your own up or just use a couple of screwdrivers. The pin on the right gets pushed to the left and the one on the left gets pushed back. There is a torx scre...

Had the timing chain tensioner, chain, guides etc replaced for peace of mind. Not a cheap job but cheaper than an engine rebuild.

Re: Bloody hard water leaving water marks on the paint!

I have a similar issue with water marks. I have polished, waxed and then applied a second coating of wax but I still get water marks after I've washed and dried the car. It's as if the bead of water that was there prior to me towelling the car dry leaves a shadow. If it rains, the water beads, sure....

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?

It's a complete assembly, not the ashtray with a different insert. Search the web for 5K0857961A 9B9 to see what I mean. I had to buy the surround, lid cover and rubber mat separately. Got them from Deutsche Parts, cheaper than VW and genuine parts. Good luck with the covered cup holder, it's a bit ...
