No sweat, I really hope I could someone and show people that twinchargers can be pretty reliable after you replace a part or two.
Unfortunately no Never had anything to do with those.

Re: Buying a used Scirocco - CAVD vs CTHD engines
The CTHDs are fine as far as I know, they don't have any of the problems that CAVD has.
Hey, if it's your dream, go for it, reliability wise, you really should be covered
Or you can always postpone your purchase for a couple of months and go for 2.0 TSI

Re: My Stage 2 1.4 TSI CAVD Scirocco
Ok, If you were to ask me ~6-12 months ago I would've told you that I will never make such a post but last week I traded my car for an extremely well loaded E60 530d LCI M-pack. I sometimes regret not getting the 535d since I found a nice one in the same price range but after owning the 1.4 TSI and ...

Re: Buying a used Scirocco - CAVD vs CTHD engines
If you have the possibility (market and money-wise) to buy a CTHD engine, please buy a CTHD engine, there is no reason under the sun to buy the CAVD unless you enjoy replacing piston rings, timing chain, injectors, DV, coil packs, spark plugs and probably many more I can't remember right now just to...

Re: Tailgate rattle/clunk
Ok, kinda embarrassed to say this but might help others I put back my spare wheel and that black thingy that lifts up with the lid and now I'm rattle free... If your truck rattles and you took the spare wheel or... That black thingy... off, check that first. That rattle literally made me hate both m...

Re: Revo stage 1
On 1.4 TSI 160HP I found their stage 1 to be night and day difference, difference between stage 1 and stage 2 not so much though

Re: Tailgate rattle/clunk
So sorry to write on this old of a thread but I have a question. I bought new bumper stops and ajusted them but I found that unless I pull it out almost all the way, my hatch is still rattling. I'm talking a good cm and a half more "out" from stock. Are there any downsides to have them set...

Re: Constant metallic buzzing only when I'm applying throttl
To be fair I just googled, so not specifically on this site but I will go ahead Again, due to the fact that the sound is not loud you can't really pinpoint from where it sounds from under the hood or if it sounds at all so I can only blindly try stuff.

Re: Constant metallic buzzing only when I'm applying throttl
It's not the bonnet strut unfortunately but I'm confident it sounds from under the hood.

Re: Constant metallic buzzing only when I'm applying throttl
Hi, thank you so much for your input, Tried revving it in neutral while stationary and I couldn't hear any buzzing, so you might be right. Is your bonnet strut hydraulical or just the regular/manual one? While I informed the mechanic about this issue, he looked mostly at the engine bay because the s...

Constant metallic buzzing only when I'm applying throttle
https://imgur.com/eAcvVmT" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I've been having this issue for almost as long as I've have owned the car, it happens only under load and the sound doesn't change when the RPM changes. I hear it only when accelerating, the second I'm taking my foot ...

Compression tests? Fit in the revised injectors / pistons before you need a new motor.

Re: My Stage 2 1.4 TSI CAVD Scirocco
I don't really care about the buttons to be honest with you, even with previous cars I never used them. Got the steering wheel solely for looks and I was well aware the buttons won't work (within simple/affordable means anyway). Maybe will make them work if I get really bored and get out of ideas. D...

Re: My Stage 2 1.4 TSI CAVD Scirocco
Oh, and also, after barely touching the car for more than a month (having a suspended license sucks) I've noticed that I get slow-exhaling-like sounds from the BOV (?) sometimes after upshifting and accelerating. Probably the BOV adaptor is leaking or something (really hoping that's the case). If it...

Re: My Stage 2 1.4 TSI CAVD Scirocco
Finished the LED retrofit today, I've bought LEDs for interior lights / sidelights and plate number, now it was time for the headlights themselves  Unless you buy something like this: https://www.ledperf.co.uk/h7-led-bulbs-conversion-kit-special-vw-audi-skoda-and-mercedes-p-30215.html" onc...

Re: My Stage 2 1.4 TSI CAVD Scirocco
My hands looked like I dug up a grave so was not really in the mood of taking pics :D I can show you how my turbo gasket from the downpipe looked when we put the new turbo in. (spoiler, the bottom half of it was burnt). Anyways, put a new gasket in there, the guys from the exhaust shop offered to ta...

Re: My Stage 2 1.4 TSI CAVD Scirocco
Got my new clutch and turbo fitted. As far as the knock from the clutch is concerned, the middle of the disk, where the bearing goes was rattling really bad and was kinda loose, not sure if that was the culprit, the springs are rattling even on the new disk if you were to grab the clutch and shake i...

Re: My Stage 2 1.4 TSI CAVD Scirocco
Thanks for the advice, do you happen to have a part number for that? Couldn't find anything specific for scirocco to save my life, only BMWs. Forgot to mention, I've switched all the interior interior lights to white LEDs and put on some rice-boy blue LEDs for the rear license plate, I kinda dig it ...
