Passenger window not dropping when pulling handle

Hi,
I just noticed today that my passenger window doesn't drop when pulling on the handle. As soon as the door starts to open it does drop. It also drops when using the fob so I'm wondering if there is a switch in the door handle that's broken.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Yeah I got an extended warranty when I bought the car (58 plate); I just wondered if there was anything I could do to sort it.

I seem to remember that one or two early Sciroccos had to have their micro-switch/handle control cable adjusted inside the door because it had slipped. It was never said what the actual repair was.
Not recent but more when the Scirocco like yours was relatively new.
If you are going to tackle it yourself, access to the inner door area by taking off the inside plastic door trim cover and the inner window regulator panel/window glass out of the door. Not for the faint hearted.
Could be the cable has stretched over time and only when the handle is properly pulled does it pull far enough the activate the window drop microswitch.
