Roc down! - ROC DOWN! Medicccc

So I've been back on BF with the release of BF3 (Still think BF2 was more ahead in it's day, than this one is) hence the title.
My car is dead. Was driving along and changed to 6th and the gear stick sunk and the car over revved- horrible noise. Something had broken and my car was stuck in first gear.
Engineer comes out and it turns out a clip retaining a cable to the engine has "come off". Once applied the gears were fine, but there was no parts with the guy who came to give me a flatbed lift home.
I'm crap with engines, so pardon me for not knowing my Roc's bay, but it's just under the box with the X on, you'll see a cable with a round head on where it is attached. Well, that's it.

(stock image by the way, as mines locked up in the garage)
So I'm stuck with a Polo and I'm taking it into Stafford VW Monday. Hopefully will get sorted ASAP as apparently it's a cheap quick fix
My VW Roadside Assistance is coming up for renewal soon, jury is still out on if they're doing me any good so far. Some good things indeed, but some messing about too.... so dunno whether to renew for £120 (ish) a year.
