Drove 160 miles from Oxford to North Wales for Christmas.

The motorways were quite busy and the A roads were full of 'driving miss daisy's' who were out for a 40mph tootle but nothing a drop to 4th or 3rd and a prod of the right foot didn't sort out :)

I know the feeling, I had yesterday off and went for a drive out but was continually frustrated by lorries and people carriers on our 20 mile trip, no chance of getting by either. I only seemed to get into 6th for a few seconds before somebody else pulled out in front of me.

Is that one of the ebay splitters? How easy was it to fit? I know someone else had one and said it was easy just wondered how you found it? Quite tempted myself!

Yep, eBay! Really easy to fit. Included 11 self-drilling screws, I used 9 in the 9 pre-made holes, added 2 holes (drill) for 2 of the OEM torx-screws holding the front bumper from the underside. (Unscrew, drill hole in lip, position lip and put screw back on) 2 included screws were not used.
I didn´t bother using the glue that was included either.

Thanks for the quick response!

Would you say it's do-able on the driveway or do you need the front raised on ramps or something?

My car is lowered 35mm, so I didnt even try it without raising it. I also have a huge workshop at my work (we are building machines on truck chassis so my Scirocco fits without problem :P ) so I did it indoors. Winter time is not nice here in Sweden.
Also, with a normal screw driver, you wouldnt have space to fit the screws in from below without raising the front end I guess.
With a tool with a 90 degree angle it might work, but then you have to be strong, pushing the screws in at the same time... I would recommend indoor space and the front lifted about the height of one screwdriver or so :)

Treated it to the alloy wheel care kit I got for Christmas - thorough wheel clean followed by a coat of protective sealant and then tyre dressing.
Along with snow foam pre-clean, shampoo wash and rinse, towel dry, cleaned all inside windows, cleaned and polished dash etc., cleaned sills and sill plates and chrome tail pipes and finally new application of gummi-pfledge to rubber seals. :D

Investigated last nights ECP Warning in the MFD with VCDS... No fault found. Cars honking at me again.... looks like the battery is giving up after 2 years & 2 months. I think the ECP warning is part of the low battery volts problem.

C.

23 Oct'09 Now Complete on the dockside, 24 Oct'09 Sailed from Portugal, 27 Oct'09 In the UK,

I never painted it, some mongo done it cheap but it wasn't dry when I drove it away so the gloss black turned into a dreadful patchy matt black which he refused to Polish. So it's now been done again by a different guy and it's dried glossy and looks brilliant. Just gotta get a quick flatten and polish and it will look amazing.
