Yeah just been reading that too
British driver Dan Wheldon has died following an accident at the Las Vegas Indy 300.
Buckinghamshire-born Wheldon, 33, was taken to the nearby University Medical Center following a crash on lap 13.
Horrific crash and terrible news for his family and the Indycar crowd.

Was watching it live on Sky, when they came back after announcing it (though, it was kind of known), the one guy on the panel in the Studio here stated crying. Presenter carried on, but cut back quickly. Was horrible.

Terrible crash. Worst I`ve seen I think. Hope they now get forced to re-visit their safety rules as Indycar is so unsafe as the cars are too close for a huge accident not to happen.
RIP

There seems to have been, in hindsight, well founded concerns that the cars were going too fast and too many on track at once for that circuit.

And MotoGP as well today.
Marco Simoncelli had a horrific crash. He lost it and got hit by Edwards and Rossi, knocking his helmet off and leaving him lying on the track. Sadly he didn't recover from his injuries

Simoncelli's dad has asked that instead of a minutes silence at Valencia, that they have a minute of full throttle noise. Awesome idea
"Next Sunday during the Valencia GP, instead of there being a minute's silence to honour Marco, I would prefer that there was a minute of total chaos with all the engines of the bikes of MotoGP, Moto2 and 125 all on and roaring together,"
