Fuelled by CNG I believe. If you have 50K, VW will let you race them fully sponsored around the world it seems.

It seems there is a rather large difference between the VW Scirocco R-Cup race car that runs on CNG biogas and the street-legal VW Scirocco Cup+ which runs on 98 Super Plus petrol.

German VW Scirocco Cup+ Tiptronic gearbox 2.0 TSi with roll-cage, 220 HP, Bilstein suspension, nice tyres and a full tank of petrol at beginning of the Nordschleife.
