The winter is close, and right now I have 205/50R17 on my Rocco
I was thinking to put 16" steel rims, but nut sure if it fits on? which ET should be? Which dimension of the winter tyre should be?
205/55R16? or 195/55R16?
I know the car will look funny on 16", but I dont want to risk to damage my alloy wheels

Last year I had 16" steels from VW (no idea what the offset was) and a 205/55 tyre and was fine - looked a bit strange though.

It all depends from the brakes size. I don't think You can fit '16's on the 2.0 tsi

Would need to check but I thought only the R had larger brakes?

2.0 has 312/277mm while R has 345/310mm. Still not sure if You can fit 16's on it ;-)

You still have 312mm in the front ;-) Rear brakes are smaller though.

The difference is in the front discs, not the rear. The 122 PS Scirocco has the smallest front discs, whereas the 160 PS and 200/210 PS Sciroccos have the same, slightly larger front discs.
