dealer charges

hi my car has gone in for some work to be done on it and when i was signing the paper work the service guy said that there might be a charge if they dont find any faults. is this true and has anyone been charged for work under the same circumstances? i will not be too pleased if they try to charge me!!

Depends what you have put it in for and what your dealer is like. Any warranty work they charge back to VW, but if they can't find the issue you have they may look your way to get they costs back. If it has gone in for a few things they may just out it all down to the one problem, assuming they find and did it.
I had a vauxhall before and the dealer was superb and didn't charge me for stuff they could find.
What has it gone in for?
