Bluetooth - Coding

Have fitted the VW 3C8035730A Bluetooth module and, thanks to DAR and 182_blue, it's working with the phone and also voice control for the RNS. Installation took a couple of hours, a good guide on routing cables http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=151928.0. Fairly straightforward to do, the hardest part was getting the cable from the roof down the A pillar. I had a bit of a cheat as there was a Fiscon unit I was replacing so was able to pull the mic cable through behind the dash with that.

Couple of questions however:

- the "microphone" button on the steering wheel still mutes the radio. On our Passat CC this effectively gives voice control and prompts for a command, at the expense of losing a mute function - is this something I need to code?
- the call volume when I tested by leaving a voicemail on my landline seemed to be quite quiet - was stationary without engine running when I made the test call. Don't see any settings on the Bluetooth/Phone menu on MFD but is this something that can be changed (will also look on the iPhone to see if there's anything there).

Cheers
Paul

For the steering wheel you need to go into the steering wheel controller and tick push to talk (that said on some BT kits it only gives you voice control over the phone not the RNS), for the volume have you looked on the RNS ?

perfect - had to change coding from 0001632 to 0001832 with the 8 being tiptronic and push to talk (for phone options only - but that's fine, I'm quite able to reach the star button the RNS for voice command on that... whether it's useful or not is another matter!)

Haven't had a look on the RNS - wouldn't the volume only be the volume for incoming calls rather than a mic volume? I'll go and take a look anyway and see what I can find.

Cheers for your help

All working, will do some more testing around the volume thing as it could just be my crap landline that's the problem more than the quality from the mic in the car.

Do you get voice control over the RNS through the wheel or is it just the Phone

Just the phone by the look of things - only accepts phone commands such as dial number etc.
