Well I realise now I made the really bad choice.
14 months a go I got a Roc 140 Manual, and as much as it was a lovely car, I knew something was missing!
I have now found out what was missing!!! 30 Ponies in the front, and DSG to put it on the ground! Oh my, what a machine, just drove 160miles from Hartlepool back to Warrington and could not help but have a smile on my face! the sound of the engine, the smoothness of the gear change... where oh where have you been all my life.
oh and it is also RB which is soo much nicer than CW
I will post some pictures tomorrow if I get some time to take them!

Jammyd: why were you coming from Hartlepool? Did you buy from there? Are you a monkeyhanger, or were Parkview motors giving a cracking deal?
Doing exactly the same as you, swapping a 140TDI GT for a RB 170TDI - I have to wait about another 7 weeks for mine.

I ordered my car through a broker friend and he got me a cracking deal ( about 4grand off) down side is that the order came through Benfields in Newcastle. This meant picking it up from the wild's of the north east. I was going to get it trailered to my house, but the dealer was not able to get it too me this weekend, so as I was up in Glasgow for work with a work mate from Hartlepool, It worked out that they were able to deliver it to Hartlepool for me, so I came home to Warrington from Glasgow via Edinburgh...
A little convoluted, but at least I got me car when I wanted it.

Jammyd: I have a mate within the sales team at Benfield Newcastle (Scotswood Road, not Silverlink), and he couldn't get me £1500 off, let alone 4 grand. The part ex value was a little low too - got a better deal at Sunderland Pulman, but still nowhere near your deal. From Glasgow, Newcastle is on the way to Hartlepool, could've just picked it up from the dealership - either way, you got it.
Sounds like your deal was via a cancelled brokers order? Great deal either way. Just goes to show how much profit there is in a new car, based on full list price. Most dealers look at you like you've asked them for their first-born when you ask for more than a grand off.
Doing anything to it like metal pedals, sliding cup holder cover, VAGCOM work (DRL sidelights, autolights running correctly, needle sweep) etc?

No Idea how they got such a good discount! Newcastle was on the way, but only got to Newcastle rail station at 6:30 so was a no go for getting it from them at time.

No it was a full and proper order. Order placed 5th October, Factory accepted in Week 50 and built week 10.
