New car extras.

When I went in to order my car last week, the dealer tried to get me to buy some optional extras. The booklets I've been given were 'Fixed-cost maintenance', 'Citygate warranty', 'SMART insurance' and 'Essential care pack'. I haven't bought any yet but he's put me down as 'interested', so I'm guessing he will bully me again when I'll be picking the car up. Hence just wondered what are your thoughts on these, and if anyone's actually spared the money to get any? Thanks.

If you're in the UK and go through VW finance you'll get free 3 years servicing, GAP is far cheaper elsewhere (if you want it), and essential care pack - you can choose your own aftercare products rather than buy their bundle.

If you're financing privately, the 3 years servicing for £299 is a good deal.
