I have a rattle from the tailgate and I think it may be coming from the lower section of trim inside the tailgate. it's the section that has the locking mechanism and the recesses where you pull the tailgate closed from.

Can anyone give details on how to remove this section?

Remove the top trim panel across the top of the glass using a plastic trim tool ideally.

Next remove both side trims a plastic trim tool ideally.

In the two hand hold recesses you will see a little cover in each. Remove them and remove the Torx bolts behind.

Next you will need a plastic trim tool ideally. At each corner, just above the curve upwards, the cover is clipped in. There is a cover mounting plastic finger/metal clip holder into the bodywork arrangement. The clip and plastic finger should be separated, leaving the metal clip in the bodywork. In practise it all comes out of the body work mounting hole. Its about 4 cm inside. Lift the edge of the cover carefully a little and you will see the securing plastic and metal clip with a torch. These need to be prised out at each side. Then pull either end of the cover out of the bodywork.
