Auto-lock after x MPH.

I think it's 15MPH? Not sure.

Anyway, my car used to auto-lock when I reached a certain speed (I'd hear it and the light would turn yellow on the door)... and now it doesn't. Any ideas what I could of done? I didn't touch the MFD, but if there is something in there that I could turn off and on again to try and kick it back, please can someone advise?

Thanks.

It can only be set thru VCDS / dealer not thru the MFD I thought??

EDIT: done quick search and someone said it can be done thru MFD if you have the Highline version.

Yes that's right. But you can't alter the speed at which the locks are activated.

It was already on though. So somehow it must of turned itself off?

I don't want to change the MPH. Not sure why anyone has mentioned that. Just want to turn it back on again. any ideas?

Have you checked in the MFD to see if it is switched off yet?

I haven't changed that though (only the footwell light brightness). So what would it be under?

Its under "Convenience", then Door Opening - Automatic. Then tick the Auto lock/Auto Unlock boxes.

Speed is 15kph = 9.5mph.

Yep, did that when I came back from picking the missus up. Haven't tested it, but thought about giving it a go as didn't expect to get back online until yesterday. I haven't touched it, but it was unticked. Must be gremlins in the system.

So the auto-unlock, if you go under 15kph, the doors unlock? (if it's the opposite of auto-lock)

Can this be done as well in a my2009 roc?

I can't remember it "clicking" below 15kph. More it releases when you pull the internal door release.

Will try it from outside as well with window down. I don't recall it 'clicking open' also, but wonder what it does do. I'll get onto tesco car park at some point and try to open the door @ 10mph. lol.

I take it is part of an anti-hijack system (like the driver side only door opening with the key).

Looking at the MY09 Controller 09 controller's label file ..... it appears not to have been found & listed to be switched on. It should be in Adaption channels 03 & 04 but they are otherwise occupied.

Or if it has Controller 46 instead of 09 fitted, look at Byte 00, bits 3 & 4 for auto lock/unlock.

It does not unlock when you go below 15kph as that would make the function useless as anti-hijack as it's to stop people opening the doors from the outside when you're stopped at traffic lights.

It operates as follows;;

When you go above 15kph the doors will lock and will remain so unless one of the following happens;

1. you pull out the key
2. you pull on the interior door release lever twice
3. you press the unlock button on the door
4. in an accident

And as said reviously it can be selected via the convenience menu on th MFD if you have Highline. If you do not have Highline then it needs to be done via vcds / vagcom

No idea what highline is, but it's definitely in the MFD (what I was saying with auto-open etc. to RW)

Actually this has just reminded me of an episode that happened to me last year. We were on the way back from the supermarket with a boot full of shopping and as I stopped at the first set of lights I notices that the doors unlocked. When we moved off they locked again but every time we stopped of slowed down the doors unlocked and then locked again when we speeded up. On a couple of occasions driving along around 15mph would cause the system to repeatedly lock and unlock.
I wasn't sure whether this was down to the boot lid not being shut properly of having washed the car earlier that day. It didn't do it again next time I drove it.
But this would seem to suggest that there might be some sort of speed related auto-unlock function built in to the system, although not normally used. If it was enabled I can tell you that it would soon become intensely irritating.

There are different specs of MFD, midline and highline. The latter offering additional functionality.

That sounds similar to the issues with the ignition switch where the windows repeatedly go up and down because the car doesn't know what position it is at.

Yes, it is there in the menu.
