Hi
myself and my other half are currently having a slight dissagreement about the RCD 510 thats fitted to the Scirocco GT we are about to take Delivery of
Does it or Doesn't it have a 6 CD Autochanger built into the unit itself?
We always thought it did but noticed the brochure says you can either have the media interface or a 6 CD Autochanger?

On closer investigation it appears that might only be on the RNS510 and the RCD510 does indeed have provision built into the unit itself for 6 CD,s?

Can somebody give us a Definitive Answer and put us out of our Misery?

Huggz
Jodie :)

The 6-cd changer is in the armrest I think. not in the unit. Can't confrim for you though. In my ST it was in the unit, but the RNS510 I'm sure it's in the armrest. So maybe that counts for the RCD also.

The RCD510 has a built in 6 CD changer, and it works pretty well although me personally use the media interface with my iPhone more.

Yup, 6 CD changer in the RCD510 unit but also you can add a 6 way CD in the arm rest to give 12 in total. Dealer option for the arm rest unit addition. Not cheap though .............

Part No. 1K0 057 110A £370.21 + VAT
Cable is part number 1T0 051 592A £26.78 + VAT at the last price I have for it.

Found it hard to operate the CD control screen on the move so went USB stick.

I put in a 250gb portable hard drive in the armrest , £39 from tesco, that way you can just leave in the car all the time and not bugger up the connection by keep unpluging the ipod all the time!, never used the cd yet

Yep, I agree. But to be honest although my CD changer is fully loaded I rarely use it. I find a USB memory stick much easier and more convenient.
