covers on seat electrics

Hi
I have my lovely new scirocco but..... I have my seat pretty far back and this exposes a nasty bot of polystyrene with loads of wores coming out of ot for the seat electrics. Raised this with dealership and they say this is normal... However the passenger seat has a plastioc cover over its side. Is yours bare or does it have a cover????? Please look and let me know.
