Having lost all leave of my senses has anyone sat in the current recaro shell, comfortable / uncomfortable, worth £3200?
Really tempted to change my order to include these, comments greatly appreciated.

They're lovely but absolutely not worth £3K. It's only a £1600 option on S3! Same seats.

Quite expensive yes however that does include leather. So technically if you look at what the same seats cost from recaro then add on the cost of leather, there isn't a whole world of difference.
I always wanted them as they look the tits and are really comfy/supportive. I'm getting some so join the club!

Recaro sell the CS in leather at £1k each. so that's £2k.
there is no reason for VW to charged £3200 for them as optional extra!!!

yes they do, however you'd want leather in the rear seats too surely? you wouldn't have leather recaros and cloth rear seats unless you were a madman.

Yay if they were cheaper. I mean on the megan r250 they caust 3000$. So why in the hell are vw seling them at 3000 pounds

, but i bet they will look sick on the scirocco

. On the other hand, for that amount of £3k you can get other options so good luck in piking what you want

(ps the recaros are like in the golf-r for the scirocco: i.e. suede in the middle and leather all around same for the rear seats?)

lol as ever when someone wants something badly there's always gonna be a good reason for it
I'm sure it'll look lush. But that £3k will get me a lot of track days and petrol to boot.

Strangely enough it was visiting my local Audi centre to get a price on a S3 and seeing their demonstrator with said seats that started me thinking.
The way I see it is Recaro CS's x2 plus fitting = £1700, rear seat leather retrim by a local fitter £850 thus £2500, likely effect of none OEM seats on residual value best case no change worst case lower value particularly if I trade it in to the dealer.
Audi S3 sport seats are a £2070 option. £2045 for the seat plus £25 for a first aid kit which bizarrely is a mandatory option, salesman confirmed as much. However leather seats are standard on a S3 rather than a £1685 option thus £3755.. which surpassingly makes the same seat cheaper in a scirocco.
Honestly I don't know, they are very expensive for a set of seats but I do prefer the leather / microfibre to pure leather. So for me it's a tossup between standard cloth or recaro's.

Am I missing something here ? Recaros are not an option on the Scirocco R , or they were not when I was ordering it. The problem I have with them appart from the cost is the fact that the bolster loose there shape really quickly if you dont climb in and out of them and end up looking tatty.

They have just became an option on the Rocco R in the last few weeks. I specced these seats when I ordered my R32 and they are really good but they don't wear very well as said above.

Are they not just the same as the ones in the Golf R, which are similar to the ones I have in my R32.
If they are, they are great seats but the price is way OTT

The VW/Audi Recaro's are not the same as the aftermarket CS's, they are much better.
Shame you have to have leather. The best ones have been the very rare Interlagos cloth ones used in the MK5 GTI and the cloth Mk5 R32 ones.

What reason do you say this?

As you say these ones are rare as the majority especially in the MK5 R32, like mine, are leather. It should be noted that these was a few quality issues with the leather Recaros in the R32 with leather coming away due to badly designed clips. VW rectified this with a new clip design and they were ixed under warranty but you still don't expect to have issues with a seat when you are have names like VAG and Recaro involved.

I Like them, they were not an option when I ordered my R. but at alomost 10% cost of the Car the price is OTT imo. But If I had the cash then yes get them.
