Advice on Waxing a Brand New Car for the First Time?

Hi
Though our Rocco has already been built (week 37) we wont get it until December 14th  due to it being our next replacement for an ongoing lease car agreement ;)

As i want to protect it from the begining i am looking for advice on what to use for its first wax? I was always brought up to believe you shouldnt wax or polish a new car until it was a few monthes old? however as the car is already built and will go into secure undercover storage until we take delivery its paint will be 3 months old by the time its in our possetion

As its newish paint im assuming it wont need polishing as thats only really for older paint to bring the best out of it but i would like to wax it on day one

I have a Bit of an OCD cleaning regime so im not interested in wasting money on lifeshine as i always wash and wax my cars reguarly anyway

Question is with a Brand New Rocco arriving in Winter but bare in mind the 3 month old paint once its been washed, dried and clayed in the appropriate manner can i just wax it as normal?

I was going to wax it with a nice durable hard wax like Colinite so its protected for Winter but is hard wax too harsh for fairly new paint?

Or should i use a soft or liquid wax maybe something like Meguirs Cleaner Wax?????

Any help and advice would be most welcome :D

Huggz
Jodie :)

hard wax is perfectly fine for new cars, i've been using collinite 915 on mine since new, cleaner wax is designed to clean the paint so isn't really needed for new cars & new paint.

I have been using the sprayon, wipe off types from Werkstatt since day one. I felt its best not to rub the new surface too hard until after a year.

915 is better for darker coloured cars ;)
