Emergency Sciroccos ?

I was in St Austell, mid-Cornwall today and heard oncoming two-tone horns. Pulling over to let the oncoming panda car/ jam buttie/ ambulance get through, I was a tad surprised to see it was a Candy White Scirocco complete with blue and red flashing lights in the front screen and grille plus rear screen. No orange stripe down the side, nor obvious emergency service markings. The car was (I think) on a 58 plate but I was too busy keeping clear. Driver might have been in paramedic clothing?

I've posted this on the "Was That You" board earlier today, but has anyone else seen or drive a similarly kitted out car? (OK, I know you won't get that lighting pack on the factory options list.....). If you are a driver, is this your car modified for work, or a "company car" ?

I suppose if you are unlucky enough to need these guys, it is good of them to arrive in style rather than say a Ford or a Volvo !
