Puddle lights & Folding mirrors

Am I correct in thinking that if puddle lights are fitted (MY10 car) then the folding option will also be there or was it possible to spec the lights on their own without the folding option?
Thanks

well the folding option is normally a cost option? so if u didn't spec it you won't get it (for free) if thats what you're thinking.

I've been reading a few posts that suggest the lights came as part of the folding option. As it was a dealer spec car I'm not sure if it has the folding option but I do definately have the lights.
What I'm trying to work out is if you could have the puddle lights as basic spec without the mirrors if that makes sense?

if you have fold then it should be an additional function on the mirror dial (left move, right move, neutral, heated) on the drivers door iirc
i seem to think they should come together, the mirrors only fold on request though not automatically so check the dial

Thanks Trix, from what I've read it looks like they come together, more investigation needed in the morning I guess, will get the car out and see what's on the dial.

took me a while to find out how to fold the mirrors! no button anywhere, and the fold icon on the dial is "hidden" from view in drivers seat. eventually found it lol.

Oh don't make me go downstairs, move my work van then have a look at this time of night! It'll be like Christmas morning tomorrow if I have them!

still a shame their not like those on the Seat which fold from the central locking remote and unfold when you start the car.....

The flaw with puddle lights is when folded they light up the top few inches of the door

I know, push the drivers one in by hand to get the Rocco in the garage and it does light up the door paint work rather nicely! Would be nice if I could move the mirrors in automatically though

I would have thought if it's motorised and electric folding you can't fold it manually? It'd bugger up the motor mech won't it?

I'd wondered about that also but then was thinking if the motor would only be engagaed when actually moving the mirrors thus if someone say clipped your mirror it would move freely rather than bust everything?

I'm over the moon Trix... can't understand what went wrong on the test drive. I definitely turned the switch to that position and nothing happened salesman "not fitted with folding mirrors" only thing I cant think of is that the ignition key wasn't in the correct position at the time
It's amazing what you can find searching through forums.

Only stumbled across it as I was looking to see what type of bulb was in the puddle light, never knew the folding and puddle options were linked.

Funnily enough I've just sent the reg docs off for the TT I traded in now the plate transfer is complete, I popped a little note in asking him to ring so hopefully next week I'll get the chance.
