Expecting new car delivery later this week ......

So, staying up to a crazy hour in order to sort everything I need wash and wax-wise!

My options are:

1) Gard-X from my dealer.
He quoted £299 at the beginning, but has reduced it to £149

2) Grab a product or two in each section of your list for wheels / washing / claying / pre-wax cleansing / wax/sealant / wheel and tyre dressing / glass / leather.

Doesn't seem to be much price difference between options 1) or 2)

Clear advantages with option 2) are:

a) I will know for certain that the products have been applied

b) I will have my cloths and applicators (never mind the products) to keep when I'm finished. Otherwise I'll have to go out and purchase at least cloths and applicators!

c) I have two boys who are experienced in cleaning wedding cars who are very keen to be set loose on the new Roc - attention to detail is the name of their game!

I better check postage prices of your products to Northern Ireland (UK); this could be a problem - plus prices for 'bundles.'

Also, I need to decide (quickly) between wax or sealant.

from a quick scan on the net it looks like GardX is similar to AutoGlym Lifeshine/Diamondbrite system/etc etc protectant style systems the major downside with this is it is only as good as the monkey they assign to apply it & his dedication & training for application, if you wanted something like this i'm sure a local detailer to you could do this for you as a new car prep service & offer more peace of mind as they want your car to look good.

you mention having two detailing fiends ready to be let loose on the roc when it arrives... if they are up to speed on preparation & putting the effort in to give you a long lasting finish then this sounds like a fab idea!!! can you lend them to me?

so i'd grab some products from T & J then you can buy what you want to use & have as big or small selection as you want & need & let the hounds loose

Once you've got the hang of it, there's a great sense of satisfaction when it comes to buffing that last bit of wax off the bodywork, standing back and taking in the shine!

Nothing gets a car looking quite as good as doing a full detail yourself. There's a sting in the initial outlay but it's worth paying for quality products to get the best results and most of what you'll buy will last well - especially the applicators/towels/cloths/wash mits/wheel brushes if they're cleaned regularly and carefully

Plus, you know that the job's been done well and adding all that shine and protection from a full clean makes a real difference the next time you come to do an interim as it's much easier/quicker to shift the muck that's accumulated since.

We would have to echo what's already been said (and not just because we'd rather you bought products from us rather than the dealership )... mainly because you can control the results that are achieved a lot better if you're applying the products yourself and also as you have already mentioned, you have the products to then continue the maintenance rather than having to buy them all the first time you want to give the car a good going over.

We would send the order via courier, which is Parcelforce and the cost to Northern Ireland is £8.95 for a 24hr delivery.
