Hi All,
Just noticed that I've got a very badly cracked Fog Light and wondered if anyone can advise if they've suffered the same and the likely cost of repair? I'm unable to ascertain if it's the usual cracked glass will need a 'complete' new Fog Light assembly or the glass can be replaced itself as the light still works fine. Bloody annoying........
Many thanks in advance for any help or advise on this.

Yeah it's a sealed unit.
£50 from your friendly VW parts department. Just be sure to ask for a near side or offside as they're different items.
Fitting it is dead easy. I'm not usually one to tinker with cars but it only took me about 15 minutes and that's with taking photos for the wiki article as well.

I got one in January from a place called Imperial Ltd through eBay, it was a genuine part and cost £25.37 delivered. Their number is 01302 304000.

Wanted to say a big thank you to all that put forward advise on fitting replacement Fog Light housing. Kev's detailed instructions (
http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/roccop ... _Foglights" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) proved invaluable and incredibly straightforward. Made the job an absolute breeze to carry out even for a novice like me who normally relies on the overcharging dealerships!!! I was quoted £150.00 to carry out the job, which set me back the pincely sum of £35.45 including postage and packing from Kat Motorsport Limited via ebay, also:

This company's service was amazingly efficient and again straightforward to deal with. I highly recommend.

Glad you fixed it
If there are any parts of the roccopedia article you think I didn't explain too well just let me know and I'll make a tweak. I wrote it from memory and just looking at the photos I took.
I think the hardest bit was just getting the slats off. I was waiting to hear the crack or ping of death when you know something's broken or flown off and you didn't know where from

Thanks Kev. I'm with you on the slat removal. Was thinking to myself just how much pressure I should exert without the dreaded 'crunch' or 'crack' and the inevitable plastic confetti of the claps tumbling out as the slat came away. The hot water was good advice indeed.
Thankfully it all went without a hitch (and the light works, BONUS).
Thanks again.
