ALLOY WHEELS TOUCH UP

I've had a couple of winter scrapes and wondered if anyone has found the exact colour match for the Scirocco Interlagos' 8j x 18 alloy wheels and the type of paint? Would smooth silver Hammerite do? The VW garage and VW customer service cannot help, there seems to be no touch-up paint tins.

Hammerite!
There is a touch up, inform your VW Parts Dept to look at the very bottom of the paint code section . There is a touch-up applicator. Its L 009 100 - Chrome. It's not a perfect match. Mercedes Brillant Silver is the closest match I've found for hand painted touch up. Do one spot and check how well it matches.

Hi, probably not the right way to do things, but I used the touch up paint I have for my reflex silver car. I got the paint for around £5 on eBay. The scratch is obviously is still visible, but from a few feet away the effect is really quite good. Worth a try for just a few quid!

Not knowing where you are, there are good localised alloy wheel repairers, so listing is difficult to focus. Alternatively you could contatc Chips Away who do repairs through a network of national agents.

Some years ago I had some alloy wheels off a classic car powder coated and the person doing it suggested you could touch up by taking some of the powder mixing it with cellulose thinners and use that. I have used this on my Roc for a minor scrape and it seems to work well
