Are the R's still available? May be in a position to buy shortly.

Ask a dealer. You may struggle if you want a Golf R but I reckon you might still be able to get a Roc.
Phone a few different dealers and get that deposit down!

Got a GT-R arriving April/May and as I don't really need two Cars at the moment may consider selling the Scirocco (It’s a uk Car arriving mid March)
