In my case it certainly is. Its far too long since I've washed it what with the snow, ice, grit and just too damn cold
But its not just VW's that'sa going all white - its the whole VW group ... and German cars generally.

Seems to be. It's certainly the most popular colour for Sciroccos in this Britain.

Saw a new Polo in white yesterday - looked pretty good!

As there's only 2 non-metallic choices for the Roc, and the red isn't a bright red like you see on the Golf (Tornado red), white is definitely the non-metallic colour of choice. If I was getting a non metallic Roc it would've been white, despite my last car being a Golf in Tornado red (which looked great).

I do love the the white rocs as the contrast with the black and the styling looks superb. For me though, rising blue looks better so thats what i have ordered, besides which i am too lazy to keep a white car clean and looking good.

Could be to do with Walter de Silva's design philosophy. Under de Silva, VW design (in my view) is moving ahead with clean confident shapes which work as a whole. This is far, far better (again in my view) than the current design philosophies of Merc and BMW which seem to suffer from hideous over detailing. Merc particularly with the new C and E classes seem to overdo this at the moment. BMW seem to be cleaning up a bit, but have still lost the plot in terms of the 'whole' - Chris 'deconstructivist' Bangle has seen to that.
So, I applaud de Silva's work, it's one of the things that for me tipped the balance in favour of the 'Roc and, yes, of course, Candy White, precisely because strong shapes seem to benefit from solid colours (although they look good in metallics as well, I was strongly tempted by Viper Green).

in my case i just refused to be ripped off by VW.
surely, spraying metallics are not that much more expensive compared to painting white, so what is the justification of charging over 350GBP? its all done by robots.
besides, i may consider vynl wrapping it in a few years time when white becomes unfashionable. I heard that Matt black/ chrome is the 'in' thing.

I've seen most colours on the road now. For me viper green is the most eye catching. White looks fantastic and i prefer it to my own rising blue
But. . . .there are just far too many white rocs about and that is why i didn't choose it. I'm not brave enough or young enough for a viper either!
In black and dark blue the car just vanishes.

I think its more simple than that, white is the new silver basically, this is not just a VW trend. it will come and go.
