Washing when cold!

I've been wanting to wash my car for the last week but I've been put off by the cold weather.
Are there any issues with washing the car when it's so close or below freezing? The last thing I want to do it create a frozen shell around my Roc! I wonder if any detailing gurus can offer some advice?
Ta,
Ash

No issues, other than you can create an ice rink around the car!

If its properly freezing you'll also end up freezing the doors and boot shut too! If you've ever had your doors freeze shut, then imagine how bad it will be when you spraying water everywhere compared just a small bit of frosty air!! Silicone spray will save the door seals to a point, but all the gaps between the door and body fill with water which freezes hard and you'll end up pouring water over it to get in the next day! And if its so cold that its freezing the water when your washing, you run a risk of damaging the paint by dragging ice around on the paint, but this will only happen when its bloody cold!

Thanks Guys. It's positively tropical this morning at 2C so I'll give it a go in a minute!

I finally did mine yesterday. The car was fine but my hands needed treatment for frostbite after!

Remember not to put hot water on cold glass, it might crack! Washed mine in the cold with water that was only just warm last time around. Stand your car off the drive too so you dont make it slippy for elderly relative.
