Sorry to brag, but have been waiting for the release of the '10' reg plates for months now, finally came out this morning and I got what has to be the best (though I admit not perfect) Scirocco UK reg ever released:
SC10CCO
Its illegeal to put it on a car older than the reg, so I cant put it on my 58 reg Tsi, but now I have an excuse to buy an R next March. Pretty damm happy, if I had a tail it would be wagging.

Ahhh, I was planning on trying to buy that plate had I taken delivery as a '10 plate. However I already have my Scirocco ('59 plate) so obviously I gave up on the idea! Congratulations on getting it, I agree it is pretty cool!!

congrats pohogan!! be interesting to know how much compeition you had on it & what it pushed the price to in the end.
the R's are probabaly not being delivered before march so you could always put an order in now...

(its very difficult to read the reg in yellow on the background!)

trix, this plate would have been bought direct from the DVLA on a first come first served basis, so no bids / competition on the price. I believe it was on sale for around £245 but I could be wrong.

Well done

I just hope when it gets on the car, they look at the Scirocco R, not just the plate!

Cheers,
I'm not really a fan of private plates, never even considered one on my other cars, I just have a bit of a weekness for my Scirocco.
It cost a bit more than £245, but nothing too crazy, money well spent if all goes to plan and I'm in a position to order an R in March.

£390?

Although the DVLA now employ people to think of desirable combinations so it could have been more. £785 or £995.

Well done though. I was thinking of buying it myself. However, I've only just realised it's 1st Dec!!!

I got my first choice and due to having an account set up purchased a plate dead quick for my R in march.
Just out of interest i went straight back in and had a look at SC10CCO and SC10ROC and both were still available, so if i wanted them there would of been a fight on here! :D

I have always hated private plates but thought i would also splash out aswell since im gonna be keeping the R longer than my GT!!!!
Come on march :hyper:

I looked at SC10OCCO on DVLA and was going for £390 which included the transfer fee, thought about it but then you dont need a plate that also tells people what car your driving especially if you have had it de-badged which would make little sense

I guess its a bit like tattooing your name on your face.
How will I live with the shame.

I think it's great. I had T333 TEE on my 2002 Audi TT.

Trix, you may have seen this around Norwich. The girl who now owns it is the step daughter of a friend.
