Hi
I just wanted to know how people find the winter pack and how quick the car is at warming up? Does the winter pack come with a heated wind screen? I was just wondering cause it took ages for my Polo to clear this morning after a hard frost last night.
Cheers

Heated seats are nice in the morn, but, no, the car does not heat up any faster. The windscreen is sadly not hetaed and takes an age to demist! Its the slowest I have ever come across!! Seriously poor. Three mile up the road and with the fan on demist, it still hadnt cleared totally around the edges. The headlight washers are handy, and they are heated so shouldnt freeze up, and also the windscreen washer jets are also heated so help not to freeze when your on the move. But ye, the seats are awesome, especially when your backs sore!!

First seriously cold morning this morning and couldn't believe just how badly misted up the car was today.
Took bloody ages to clear. Very very poor.

Thanks for the info, glad the heated seats are good disappointed it doesnt have a heated windscreen, nothing worse waiting on your car to demist when your running late for work!

Hi Scott, I've got the dual zone aircon and when you select the demist window option, it automatically uses the dehumidifier part of the aircon to help demist, no matter how cold it is outside. The aircon compressor only opertaes usually at temps down to about 5 degrees, but when you use demist it overrides this. And still absolute dire!

I was sitting in the corrado replacing some of the wiring on Sunday, so the windows misted up inside..... this morning, I had heavy frost on the outside, and think ice on the inside....
Surely by contrast the rocco will be better than that!!! Luckily it was tucked up safely in the warm garage.

why manufacturer don't offer heated windscreens? Ford fiestas have it...
its the most handy thing for the majority of the european market.
I am hot most of the time so i don;t really need heated seats.
another technique is to open all the windows before you get into the car, so that the air inside the cabin is the same temp. as the outside. have the heater full on while you drive on.
then gradually close the windows as the heater heats up. Don;t let your breath freeze on the inside of the screen.

Re: Andy and your corrado, I've just come from a damp mk3 golf and before that a mk1, so the demisting of the screen seems close to miraculous for me haha
The heated mirrors are nice too, but do take a while to fully clear.
Only thing i'm not keen on with the headlight washers is if you use them at night then everything goes dark for a few second while they spray and/or you look like you're flashing oncoming traffic.

Because Ford own a patent on it and suppliers are too cheap to license it. Ford owned (and ex-Ford owned like Jaguar) also have the heated front windscreen.

You can buy heated screens aftermarket.
I've got a custom one for my MK2 Golf GTI.

VW do heated windscreens - our 57-plate Passat has one factory fitted, which is why it's relegated to the driveway and the Roc is garaged

Mine will be garaged but i'm doing shifts again next year so worse is finishing a night shift and having to de ice the car before you can go home to bed!

Am i the only one who actually thinks the Scirocco is quite fast at clearing the windscreen and heating up? my Mk5 was much slower than the Scirocco, and as for the renault before that, well no matter what you did it took 20 minutes, only beaten by my first car an escort where you had to lean out the window for the first hour in winter!!
