Hi All,
Finally completed the front end with revised grilles. Lower was not an easy task to extract and replace!!

That does look good RW. Bet VW make it a standard production feature before long.
BTW - I think I noticed a blue line along the top of your grill. Doesn't seem to be there on your first pic.

Thanks ZephyR. The Blue line is a "trade mark" for a number of past cars. Now you can give me a wave!
Out with the old, in with the new. The Scirocco finally hit the road, and the old one retired to the Lake District this afternoon.

. So here's a few pictures. 1.4TSi with DSG is a nice package. Well impressed!!
Enjoy...........

Been busy today in the nice morning weather. Decided to fit some black/silver sill (Part No: 1K8071310) scuff plate films. Kit was quite easy to apply and took about 3/4 hour per side, taking time to get everything aligned properly.
A small hair dryer was essential for the job as the plate vinyl material is quite thick and there are 3 curved areas to get it in or around. The task was made easier cos the VW kit supplies has some clear detergent liquid to mix with water. Applying this mix to the tacky side of the plate and Scirocco's sill allows one to slide the plate around with ease until positioned correctly. Using the plastic tool and hairdryer, the water mix and air is persuaded out and the plate sticks down in position.
In addition I decided to add a 3cm wide by 100cm clear film strip to the outside edge (butted) which turned over the outer sill edge. The clear film will protect against shoe heels scuffing the remaining exposed outer edge paintwork the VW sill plates did not cover. The film tape is Scotch 3M Pressure Sensitive Tape like Scotchguard Paint Protection Film. The tape's product number is VW part VW part AKL448 030 05, 5m x 25mm width. I picked up the roll from a trader at a show for £1, unfortunately its £35 for a 5m a roll. £M price is not much different. Its the same material as VW use to make clear coin size anti-rub disc on their cars.

Also added the overall boot-liner from hatchbag.co.uk. It's a neat fit, even catering for the small cavity pockets at the rear bottom corners of the boot. Its made of pretty tough material and easily fitted (and removed). Several Velcro patches hold the walls in place.
When I ordered, I also added the optional flap that covers the bumper. It attaches to the main liner's rear vertical wall with a Velcro strip. It can be neatly tucked in at the rear boot wall when not in use while still attached.
More details can be found here:

Ah, Trix, thats answers the surprise 10% I got when I spoke to his father when ordering. Couldn't find where that was noted on here after the call. (Cos its titled "Seat Cover" not Boot Liner)

Thanks

They are probably the clearest pics of how the rubber cill plates look when fitted. Actually look better than I thought from previous photos.
