HD wax

Hi, in the past I have used autoglym ultra deep shine then put a couple of coats of extra gloss protection on top to seal it in and keep a lasting shine, on my previous car which was black, this worked very well and lasted a good few months before I would need to re apply the extra gloss protection to keep the paint smooth and water beading nicely. Now I've got my Roc I've been given a tub of HD wax and wonder the best way of appplying it, ie, do I still use the ultra deep shine or super resin polish first, then the HD wax, or SRP then EGP, then HD wax, or just put the HD wax straight on and then nothing on it? I havent even properly checked the instructions yet, but find that with these things they are usually vague and people on here tend to have experience with what to do to get the best results!
Any ideas?

Alan.

You could do SRP then EGP then HD, if you don't want to put the EGP on it will still work great over the SRP. The beading the HD wax gives really is great.

Cool, cheers Chr15, will give it a go on top of the EGP.

I really rate HD wax, it looks qood, is quite easy to work with and lasts a decent amount of time.

If I was you i'd work in two layers of srp to prime the surface and fill any swirls you may have, then just go straight to the HD wax. I don't think using EGP would be that beneficial given the extra time it would take to apply it, especially as HD wax is pretty durable on it's own.

Ah right. Cool. So far I have no swirls, super careful washing seems to be helping with this problem which I have suffered from on other cars I have owned. I've thrown the brush away, and got a snow foam lance and then give the car a quick wipe over with the lambswool mitt and then pat dry with a super duper absorbent towel. So far its working! Just need to get the HD wax on when I get a chance. Cheers for the advice.

yup i use the SRP but only periodically, polishing is not required all the time and can cause swirls if not applied correctly, egp give a good initial seal, then the hd wax really tops it off..
