Eek.
Where do you think it's leaking from? Gearbox or engine?

it deposited its engine oil, we'll see given it was serviced a few weeks ago, hence why i want my dealer to look at it, no oil in around engine bay and no damage to guard underneath, a few calls were made to people in the know

VW just decided to recover it and not strip bits off, so car looking stuck on low loader, so from time of call to getting it recovered onto a lorry took 4 hours

4 hous that's a bit rubbish!

Are you thinking something not tightened properly at service (oil drain plug or something) maybe?

VW Assistance is linked with RAC, in the end a RAC contractor shipped me back (and were great), fatal floor with VW was if they had checked my drivers licence on line (as no paper segment with me) when i reported the issue i would have had a hire car tonight and roc could be shipped back tomorrow, unfortunatley VW were so inefficient is getting to me meant out of office hours and so no hire car

VW is so inefficient that RAC didn't have my details in their database as new owner and they didn't know about my extended assitance cover. I called dealer, VW assistance and RAC and everyone was saying call the other one.

rumour i may get it back tomorrow, its getting a new sump appears some bouncing debris last week may have caused some damage afterall :eyepop:

200 miles in a 140tdi jetta confirmed my thoughts how sh#t the engine is, still waiting for the wall of torque to arrive, may arrive with new sump tomorrow, i fear it i ever go diesel it will be a bmw as not a patch on a 320d

Mmm so sounds like you've been unlucky rather than a fault. At least that's good to know. Any news on the cash damage?

i reckon my roasting tray for chrimbo is more robust...

collected car and put some miles on it and seems fine in stock mode (just slow), some piccies of the damage from the debris, leak casued by damage to sensor

Is your car lowered Wigit? Might not be the last person to suffer this. Seems a vulnerable place to put the sensor though.Glad it's all sorted

Luckily it didn't do any major damage!

I smashed the sump on my mk3 vr6, wasn't particularly cheap! I would cry if it happend on the roc.

mines lowered on kws, incident is attributed to a bit of debris which i couldn't avoid (and thought i'd got away with), if car had been lower front bumper may of stopped it, needless to say if standard height i may have got away with it given the standard stance :eyepop:

Christ, thats a steel sump, i just assumed they would be alloy like the last generation of engines. Steel is better from a practicality view, it'll deform first before it cracks. Alloy sumps on lowered cars are a bit of a nightmare due to the hit ans smash nature fo them.

Its hardly a daft place to put the sensor, its in a recess on the bottom of the sump, and its got to measure oil quality, so its got to be there. Just unlucky to mash it.
