Boost gauge working correctly?

I have a MK3 2.0 TDI GT and have just replaced the high pressure oil sensor after car went into limp mode and corresponding code came up, actually got the same fault first time out but it seems to have cleared up now and running well. I have just noticed boost gauge reading 1 bar at tickover and spinning right round to between 2 and 3 bar when accelerating, is this normal or have I got more electrical gremlins? TBH I never paid much attention to what it was doing before now but does seem strange, only had the car since May.

Thought I might have had a reply by now, all I really want to know is if anyone else has the model with boost gauge fitted and what it reads on tickover and how much it reads when accelerating?

Sadly this forum isn’t as active as it once was.
I’m not sure of the exact figures for your model but On idle 1 bar sounds about right, I would expect 2 - 3 bar on acceleration. You could check live data to see how accurate it is but I’d assume the gauge is a guide rather than an exact measurement. It does sound like it’s working as it should.

Thanks for the reply bigkris, good to know it seems to be working right. It does go ok and no fault codes so it makes sense it's right, some times you can have too much information to worry about

Quite often I find myself overthinking things!
