Never had this issue before, there is however a repair guide here

Not done it myself but looks relatively straightforward.
Hope this helps 😊

Yeah had this issue on my partners Scirocco recently and seen it's a common issue. It's the inlet manifold which has been known to be an issue from the arm actuator.

I tried a few of these quick fixes such as spraying grease on the arm actuator and these items via ebay such as this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184464720645 ... BMhNGD6qVj

But none worked unfortunately...

We got quoted £1,500 for the replacement of it, so I did this myself following the guide here:

I bought the inlet manifold from Ridex via Autodoc: https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ridex/15185069

I would advise changing the seals for the injectors if any come out when taking the manifold out too, or take it as an opportunity to replace them altogether if they're overdue.

Will likely need OBDII / VCDS to reset engine management light too (I have VCDS so unsure if a regular OBDII will clear it).

AUTODOC really good price wise but takes a good while to come.
Have used them regularly if we aren’t in a rush for the parts.
If you do go down the route of changing the complete manifold yes I would agree with changing the seals while you are there, not completely necessary but if you’re down there anyway and they are penny’s to buy you may as well.
Any decent diagnostic should reset any associated codes.
Hope you get it sorted.
