Best Discs and Pads

Post by Andrew753 »

Happy New Year.

I imagine this question is asked before but rather than hijack an old thread I’ll try with this one.

My TDI (the lower power one) needs new pads and discs all round. As Lookers can go and shove their quote in a dark hole I shall get the good local independent used by other family members to fit.

I don’t want race car style braking, it’s my daily driver commuting car. I just the best quality assuming VW oem parts will be most expensive but not necessarily the best. Does anyone know what I’d be asking for brand wise?

Euro car parts, avoid audura and eicher as they are not great quality. Go for any of the following- Bosch, brembo or Pagid.
GSF, avoid drivetec again, not great quality go for Delphi or Brembo.
If buying online be careful and make sure you are getting genuine as there is a lot of fakes available.
Hope this helps 😊
