Steering Wheel Transmission Shift Control Switch

I know the DCT is not as gangster as a manual, but that is what I have. I use the paddles for gear shift 99% of the time.
Looking at "nicer" cars, some have a more crisp sound/feel to the buttons. That is desirable I think.
For BMW a company called Madtrace have an upgrade available for a measly $500 or so.
Anything like this for VW?
5K0951527YCR seems to be the PN of the switch, but at nearly $200 a piece its not exactly something I would buy and cut up to do a test on.

Any ideas or suggestions?
