Fuel Sender

Need a replacement in tank fuel sender for a 88 16V. Searched every source I could think of or used over the last 3+ decades...no luck! Compiled all part and subsequent/replacement part numbers...no luck! Not interested in taking a chance on some eBay deal from Timbuktu! Maybe I should just search for a good used unit! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
