Break creak

Hi guys. Had my 67 plate R about three weeks now and overall very happy. Today however I heard an unusual noise from the breaks which have become more consistent. It's some kind of creaking noise. Sounds like the pedal, and happens while the engine is running, with very minimal effort. Interestingly when the engine is off, I need to apply lots of pressure.
While this to me points to a servo issue, wondered if anyone has had any experience similar.
Incidentally I also run a 2002 TT, such is mint. It seems as though the breaks on the TT are far more effective and given that the Rocco is quicker and more sophisticated I would expect the breaks to be excellent, but I'm not really feeling it!
