2.0tsi p0343, p0172 & epc

My 2012 2.0tsi with 80,000 miles has thrown up these codes
It’s been having starting issues, taking a while to fire up
Occasionally throwing up a p0172 code & epc light, the epc light goes off after a short time
This has been ongoing for a couple of months
Now it’s thrown up a p0343 code on startup
I’ve googled the codes and the p0343 worries me as I’m concerned it’s not the sensor or wiring causing the issue & it’s possible it’s the timing that’s out
Obviously it’s off to the garage ASAP, but Sod’s law I’m on holiday and really could do with using the car
What’s the forum’s thoughts on what’s going on with my car?
