Timing chain tensioner kit? Where to get?

I'm currently driving a 2009 2.0 TSI DSG (Scirocco) but I'm pretty sure it's the exact same engine as in the mk5 (and early mk6)? It's rated at 200 HP.

1,984 cc (1.984 L; 121.1 cu in) I4 turbo (EA888 -CCTA/CCZA/CBFA/CAWB). I believe it's the CAWB one, but I'm not 100% sure. Can anyone confirm?

I'm looking to replace the tensioner before it brakes and while at it change the chain with it. Where can I find a kit online (don't wanna get ripped off by VW).
How much time would it take for an indie to do this job?

Despite having the same power output, it's not the same engine as used on the MK5 Golf. Your car is fitted with the EA888 and the MK5 Golf used the EA113. The only Scirocco that uses the EA113 is the "R". The EA113 is a belt whereas, as you know the EA888 is a chain. You can get the engine code from the sticker in the boot or the one inside the service book.

I would let whoever is doing the job source the parts as if there is any issue after the work has been done whoever did the work is responsible however if you supply the parts, responsibility becomes unclear.

Ah yes. The mk5 has more of a 'square' engine cover then the mk6 it has more of a rectangle shape.

How much would it cost to do it (by an indie) with the parts?

Okay so I have an invoice from a so-called 'vag specialist'. What do you guys reckon?

Replacing 2 chains including all tensioners, all guides, all covers and seals.
Flushing of oil circuit
New Castrol oil
Additive oil especially for 2.0 TSI

Total € 1100

Is this a good price? It will also include a new chain (as the old one might be stretched out with the weak chain tensioner?)

Price doesn't seem to unreasonable assuming OEM parts are used.

I am interested in the oil additive specific to the TSI, sounds like bullshit to me. As long as a good quality fully synthetic oil that meets VW504.00 is used, no additives are required.
