Scirocco Ashtray Modification / Smokers Pack

Hi all,
My first post here so I apologise in advance if I'm posting in the wrong area.
That being said, has anyone added a VW Golf MK6 ashtray to their rocco? I've seen the occasional one throughout the forum but not too many. What I want to know is, if you have the mod, did you replace the entire unit or was you able to just apply the top cover?
The reason I ask, is because most of the MK6 unit's optimise a smoking tray and compromise on space that the scirocco has. I am not a smoker, and would therefore like the space as a big compartment, but with a lid to make it look neater.
