HELP with 2014 Scirocco - Key fobs not working

Has anyone had any trouble with their Sciroccos key fob not working?
I’ve got a 2014 VW scirocco and one of the headlights was not working so we checked and removed the fuses on the drivers side of the dash and also it was put onto a Snap-on diagnostic computer but since this neither key remotes open the car.
Could either of these of have caused the keys not to work? We’ve tried to resynchronise the keys but this has not worked. Any ideas?
