Window drops and raises? Help

Window drops and raises? Help

Hi guys since buying the car my windows do this strange thing...

When the ignition goes off the windows drop down an inch then when i get out and lock the door they raise back up??

Also i have no puddle lights on each door?

When you unlock or pull the key out of the ignition the windows are supposed to drop. They also drop when you open the door. They are frameless windows and need to do so to clear the seal. Have a look at how the window slots into the seal and you will see why they need to drop to open the door.

When they freeze up in winter and try to open the door you will see why they drop.

The puddle lights on the Scirocco are in the mirrors and only fitted if the electric folding mirrors have been specced. The reflectors at the bottom of the doors can be replaced with Puddle lights. Have a search as there are several threads on how to retrofit.

Thanks for all the information mate, oh yeah makes sense now i didn't even think about that! Good to know its not a fault then.

I've just come from a Mk4 Golf so still getting used to the Rocco. Just doing some searching round the forum now looking at some new mods.

Would quite like to add some face lift retrofits as mine is an early model.
